Open Source Engineer (c15t)

Lead development of the c15t SDK and privacy framework. Build fast, flexible tools for the open web, and shape the way developers build compliant apps.

London HQ (Hybrid: 2–3 days/week in-office, rest WFH optional)Full-time£70,000 – £120,000 + equity

About This Role

c15t is the fastest, most developer-friendly consent framework on the web. As our first full-time open-source engineer, you’ll take full responsibility for the SDK internals, developer experience and community engagement. You’ll write high-quality TypeScript, optimise for performance and collaborate directly with developers using the tool. If you care about DX, privacy and open-source, and want to build a real standard, this is your moment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development of the c15t SDK core and framework integrations

  • Design APIs that are intuitive and flexible for developers

  • Optimise performance and maintain best-in-class benchmarks

  • Maintain documentation, CLI tools and example repositories

  • Work closely with the open-source community for feedback and improvement

  • Ensure strong test coverage and code quality across the SDK

  • Implementation of Shadcn UI components and Tailwind CSS

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of TypeScript or JavaScript experience

  • Experience building SDKs, libraries or developer tools

  • Strong understanding of React or other modern frameworks

  • Comfort working with bundlers, testing tools and versioning systems

  • Experience with developer documentation and open-source workflows

Preferred Qualifications

  • Maintainer or active contributor to an open-source project

  • Worked in a startup that scaled from pre-seed or seed to Series A with under 10 team members

  • Understanding of web privacy standards like GDPR or TCF

  • Background in performance tuning or web compliance

  • Comfort running community conversations and issue discussions
